In this lesson we are going to create a website. This may sound complicated but you will see it is very easy. To build your website, we are going to use the website building platform at Wealthy Affiliate.

By now you should be a member with Wealthy Affiliate. If you are not a member, you can still sign up to become a free member here.

When you are a member, you have to go to the website from Wealthy Affiliate and click in the menu on the left on Websites. You should see the same as the image on the right.

Click on the second one from the top that says “Sitebuilder”.

Getting A Domain Name

On the next page you can register a domain name, or click on “On a domain I own” if you already have a domain name, otherwise choose “On a free domain”.

By #2 you can choose the desired domain name for your website. Use something with keywords in it and that will tell your visitors immediately what your website is about.

By #3 you have to write a title for your website. It is important to use your main keyword in the title to rank higher in the search engine.

If you can’t come up with a good title, don’t worry, just write down something as you can always change it later.

By #4 you have to choose a template for your website. Just pick something you like, you can customize your template in many ways, and you can easily change to another template later.

When your done, click on the green button “Click Here to Build This Site!” and your website will be created for you.

When you have a look at your website, you will see that it looks very empty, not what it was when you chose your template. That is because there is nothing on it yet.

This is what you have to do: putting content (articles) and images on it. For your articles you need to have keywords, and that is what we are going to do now.

Finding Keywords For Your Niche

In this part of the lesson you will learn how to find keywords. Keywords are important to get your website high in the search engine.

If you know how to find keywords with low competition, and put them properly in your website’s content, you’ll be able to get lots of traffic to your website. Without traffic, you won’t have anybody to sell to.

There are several ways to drive traffic to your website, but the best way is through organic searches (=without paying for traffic) in Google.

If you can get your website on the first 2 pages of Google, you can expect profit-making website traffic. You do this with the right keywords in your content.

Long Tail Keywords

A keyword is a term someone types in into the search engine. This can be anything, such as “hard drive” to “cheap solid state hard drive 256Gb”.

The last one is an example of a long tail keyword, and it’s something you must aim for. Long tail keywords are searched by people who have a bigger interest of buying the product.

Low Hanging Fruit Keywords

Whatever niche you choose, you have 1000s of keywords you can use. You have to target the so called long tail keywords as they have less competition.

Long tail keywords are easier to get ranked for and this will give you traffic to your website. This is what is called targeting the “Low Hanging Fruit” keywords.

The keyword search terms should have less than 300 competing websites, but you should aim for less than 100 competing websites.

It probably could take some time to find these Low Hanging Fruit Keywords, but these will give you the best chance possible to rank high and make sales.

You have to watch the video on ranking with low hanging fruit keywords to understand it better. This video is not to be missed, as it is important for your success.

The search volume must be at least 50 monthly searches, but the higher, the better. More searches can get you more traffic to your website.

Another important fact is that the keyword must make sense, for example “get traffic your website” is not good, “get traffic to your website” is good. You need to use the right version.

Placing Keywords Within Your Content

Once you have found your keywords, you have to use them effectively. It’s very simple so don’t make this hard on yourself. For every page or post, you are only going to target one keyword.

If your keyword is “get traffic to your website”, you first have to put this keyword in the title, like this: “Know how to get traffic to your website for free”.

Using “how to” in the title is good to get more clicks, just as the word “free”. Just see yourself as a visitor, and ask yourself if you would want to click on the link to know more.

You can also ask your friends or family to see what they think of your title. Next, put the keyword in the first paragraph of your article.

Here is an example using the keywords “get traffic to your website”:
“To earn money online you need to get visitors to your website. This is called website traffic, and can be paid or free traffic. There are many ways to get traffic, you just have to know how to get traffic to your website for free.”

As you can see, it is not hard at all! You can put your keyword two or three more times in your text, depending on the length of your text.

Don’t use your keyword too often, as Google will see it as keyword stuffing and will punish you with lower rankings.

More Keyword Research

Read this lesson and watch the video to know how to do keyword research to find profitable keywords. Follow the lesson and find a list of 5 keywords using the techniques described in the article and video.

You can use the WA keyword tool or the Jaaxy keyword tool. This is to get you familiar with finding keywords; every time you write a new post or page, you have to find a keyword for that article.
